Wine & Arrábida

The Arrábida Natural Park is 10,800 hectares of sheer beauty, with typical Mediterrean vegetation and views of the bay of Setúbal and the beaches of Tróia and Portinha de Arrábida. During the day we shall also visit Palmela Castle, a fortification of Moorish origin; a local factory where azulejos (ceramic tiles) are made by hand in designs inspired by the techniques of 16th-century artisans; and the José Maria da Fonseca House Museum, at a winery that produces Portugal’s oldest brand of wine (Periquita) and where you will taste 3 regional wines. The day ends at Cape Espichel, a mystical place of rare beauty, with many stories attached.
